Apple took wraps off its two new watches— Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 at Apple’s Wanderlust event on Sept 12. The highlight of the event was the double tap gesture support; however, it didn’t come along with the release, it took some time. Now, Apple has released watchOS 10.1 update to introduce this highly anticipated feature.
During the Apple Wanderlust event on Sept 4, Apple showcased that users can operate the Apple Watch without even touching it and merely gestures. The users can snooze alarms, start a timer, control media playback, and even answer phone calls, etc. It doesn’t end here; there’s also space for double-tap gesture customization, users can go to Settings > Gestures > Double Tap.
Moreover, the update introduces extra functionalities, including NameDrop, a feature that allows users to effortlessly share their contact details with fellow iPhone and Apple Watch users. This will be accessible for Apple Watch SE 2, Watch Series 7, and more recent models. Apple is also actively resolving several glitches in the Apple Watch, promising an improved user experience overall.
