The Canadian International School (CIS) Bangalore has announced its Scholarship programme for high-achieving students who will be part of the academic cohort of 2024. This programme is open to prospective Grade 9th students pursuing the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and Grade 11th students enrolling in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The application deadline for this scholarship opportunity is set for December 15, 2023, according to an official release.
For those aspiring to secure an IB scholarship, a prerequisite is having attained a minimum of 80% in their prior academic year or its equivalent. On the other hand, candidates seeking an IGCSE scholarship must have achieved a minimum of 85% in their previous academic year or its equivalent. In addition to these academic criteria, applicants for the scholarship programme must also demonstrate their excellence in academics, leadership abilities, notable achievements in the arts or athletics, involvement in civic activities or volunteerism and active participation in school activities, as per the release.
The preliminary selection phase consists of shortlisted candidates completing admission assessments in both English and Mathematics. Afterward, the CIS scholarship committee will conduct subsequent interviews. The ultimate selection of scholarship recipients will be based on a thorough evaluation that takes into account the application materials, performance in the admission tests and the results of the interview, it added.
